François Boileau joins the podcast on April 30, his final day as Ontario's French language services commissioner. He discusses the office he built with his team during the past 11.5 years, their work in promoting French-language rights and his view on the impact of his office's closure and its transfer to the Ontario ombudsman. Boileau calls the closure of his office and the province's decision to cancel plans to fund a French-language university in Toronto a "big blow" to the francophone community, and contests one of Premier Doug Ford's statements defending the government's decision on the latter.
