Applications are invited for the position of Director, Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy in the Faculty of Arts & Science at the University of Toronto. This appointment is for a five-year term (renewable upon successful review) effective July 1, 2019, or soon thereafter.

The Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy is a leading interdisciplinary academic centre for global issues that integrates research with graduate and undergraduate teaching and public education. The School has established a reputation for excellence in research, teaching, public engagement and innovative partnerships. Over 230 affiliated scholars from the humanities, social sciences, management, law, medicine, and education call the School their intellectual home.

Reporting to the Dean of the Faculty of Arts & Science, the Director promotes the School and its capabilities to new and existing networks of governments, universities, corporations, foundations, and non-governmental organizations. As the School’s academic leader, the Director works with distinguished faculty to enhance its research and teaching, and its international impact, as well as foster innovation in its core programs. The Director is expected to provide visionary leadership for the School, and to articulate that vision to the School, the Faculty, the University, and the broader

community. The Director will take up the position at an exciting time following the amalgamation of the Munk School of Global Affairs and the School of Public Policy and Governance.

The successful candidate will be an institution-builder with outstanding academic achievements and an established track record of success in administration, external relations, advancement, building diverse and inclusive teams, supporting excellence in research and teaching, and engaging with international and national partners.

The successful candidate will take office by July 1, 2019, or soon thereafter. Consideration of candidates will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.
