Press Release: Hill+Knowlton Canada Hires Ontario Political Veteran

The following was issued from the offices of H+K Ottawa and is not original content published by QP Briefing.

Hill+Knowlton Strategies Canada (H+K) is pleased to welcome back Omar Khan as vice-president, public affairs in its Toronto office.

A former H+K employee, Omar spent the last decade working at the highest levels of the Ontario government. He comes to the company directly from the Ontario Minister of Health and Long-Term Care’s office, where he served as chief of staff—providing counsel on emerging issues, strategic decisions and policy development. Omar also worked as chief of staff at the Office of the Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Employment, and at the Office of the Minister of Government Services.

“Omar’s chief of staff experience—combined with senior roles at the offices of the Attorney General of Ontario, the Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities, and the Minister of Labour—further augments our team’s deep understanding of the political process at all levels of government,” says senior vice-president Sheila Wisniewski, H+K Toronto’s general manager. “His health-care, economic, regulatory affairs and labour relations insights and both federal and provincial election campaign expertise will be a huge asset for clients, especially those that require help with complex policy proposals, building stakeholder coalitions and developing comprehensive communications plans.”

He also worked as chief of staff at the Office of the Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Employment, and at the Office of the Minister of Government Services.

“Omar’s addition represents yet another example of our ability to provide insights to clients in Queens Park and on Parliament Hill from advisors who have worked hand-in-hand with the very people directly involved in government decision-making today” adds Goldy Hyder, H+K’s president and CEO.

Omar has a bachelor’s degree in political science from Western University.
