The QP Briefing Podcast has returned, and this time around we're joined by Ontario NDP Leader Andrea Horwath for a year-end interview. Horwath spoke with us about her party's hydro and road-toll policies, her debates with the Premier and how an NDP government would operate, if that were to come about in 2018.
But there's more. In this week's episode, we take another run at PC Leader Patrick Brown's social conservative quandaries, the latest of which was a speech given by Tory MPP Rick Nicholls to Christian groups at Queen's Park. While Brown has declared he does not want party members members pushing "divisive" social issues, Nicholls told a room of people that those issues are "very, very important," and that "we need to form government and then, watch us go.” He's since backtracked.
French-language news agency TFO got the scoop by, well, being in the room where it happened. Here's the full recording, along with a few others.
The Liberals, meanwhile, were quick to pounce on Nicholls' comments.
Oh, and we talk weed this week, too.
The soundbites for this episode are, in order: Horwath, Horwath again, Deputy Premier Deb Matthews and Attorney General Yasir Naqvi.
