Happening: CUPE sues Wynne, cabinet ministers over Hydro One sale

The Canadian Union of Public Employees filed a lawsuit in provincial court Tuesday against the Premier and her energy and finance ministers over the Hydro One sale.

The “misfeasance” suit alleges Finance Minister Charles Sousa and then-Energy Minister Bob Chiarelli acted inappropriately when they attended a $7,500-a-plate party fundraiser at the Four Seasons in Toronto last December with bankers alleged to have profited from the 60-per-cent stake sale of the public utility. The event took place about a month after the Hydro One's initial public offering.
