People on the move

A top civil servant, senior executives, and a trio of ink-stained wretches are all changing roles in this edition of People on the Move.

Toronto City Manager Peter Wallace, who was once the top civil servant in the province, will leave his post to become the Secretary of the Treasury Board in Ottawa. The 59-year-old Wallace has worked in the public service for almost all of his career since 1981.

Hydro One announced the appointment of Patrick Meneley to the position of chief corporate development officer, effective March 1. Meneley comes to Ontario's largest energy company from TD Bank Group, where he held senior positions in wholesale and investment banking. Meneley joins another recent senior hire at Hydro One, Paul Dobson, who was named the company's CFO in January.

Journalist Andrew Reeves has joined Queen's Park Today, and is once again covering the legislature. Reeves previously covered the legislature for your very own Queen's Park Briefing. An expert on environmental policy, his writing has also appeared in the Globe and Mail, TVO, Spacing, THIS magazine and Torontoist.

iPolitics also sees an addition, with Marieke Walsh scheduled to start in two weeks. Walsh comes to the Pink Palace by way of Global Halifax, where she was covering Nova Scotian politics. She was previously a producer for The West Block and an associate producer for Power and Politics.

Journalist Chris Glover will join CBC at Queen's Park in the leadup to the campaign, and then on the trail. Glover previously spent five years as a political reporter at CBC Winnipeg.
