Mike Harris Jr., the son of former Ontario premier Mike Harris, is considering running for the Progressive Conservative nomination in Waterloo, he told QP Briefing Tuesday.
"We're looking at what it would take to win the nomination race right now," Harris Jr. said. "I haven't declared anything formally at this point. It's certainly something that's on my radar and I'm looking forward to seeing how things shape out over the next couple of weeks."
Earlier in the day, he met with interim PC Leader Vic Fedeli, who posted a photo with Mike Jr. and Mike Sr. on Twitter.

Harris Jr. said he's a father of five children and he wants to see Ontario in a prosperous position when they grow up.
"I've lived through 15 years of Liberal mismanagement and I've seen it first hand — it's hurting families," he said.
Harris said his father's legacy is one of the reasons he's considering running. "It runs though my veins," he said. "He's always been a big proponent of me trying to do what is best."
Harris said he was born in North Bay and moved to Waterloo five years ago, and works at a tech company.
Ontario politics has seen its share of political dynasties lately. Caroline Mulroney, daughter of former prime minister Brian Mulroney, is running for the Progressive Conservative leadership. Her rival, Doug Ford Jr., is the son of former MPP Doug Ford Sr. and bother of former Toronto mayor Rob Ford.
