The Manager, Corporate Affairs will be intricately involved in LifeLabs’ strategy to engage health system partners and governments across the country. This role will support senior leaders by researching and preparing materials for conversations with government and health system partners. They will proactively develop mutually beneficial working relationships with government and other key healthcare sector partners including representing LifeLabs in various capacities that enable the company to advocate its interests effectively and thoughtfully.

Accountabilities:

• Supports the development of LifeLabs strategy with provincial governments and key stakeholders within the health care system

• Collaborate with business leads and relevant stakeholders to gather information required to support decision-making

• Develop business cases for presentations to the executive to support decision-making

• Develops and maintains a LL’s stakeholder database containing all current and relevant issue contacts

• Identifies target audience(s) and key decision makers and produce all supporting materials such as correspondence, briefing notes, meeting decks and biographical information

• Works closely with various parts of the company to identify issues and strategic priorities of Government and healthcare partners

• Monitors and conducts research on relevant public policy, legislative, regulatory and political issues as well as key decision makers and influencers

• Use best practices to interpret research and draft documents for proposals, initiatives and other projects

• Manages relationships with regional health regions (LHINS and Health Authorities) and senior levels of government.

• Develops and grows strong relationships with key decision makers and influencers in and outside of government

• Promotes LifeLabs' positions with senior government officials and other external audiences in person and in writing

Requirements:

Education: University degree: Degree in Health Administration, Business, Science, Management or equivalent

• Masters degree is considered an asset

• Minimum experience of 5 to 8yrs in a similar position; Minimum 3 years of experience in a related field such as corporate Government Relations, government, market research, journalism, communications, public relations, etc.

• Knowledge of the Health Care/Life Sciences industry

• Proven ability to develop, articulate and gain support for organizational strategies

• Consulting experience within a business firm is considered an asset

• Ability to develop positive working relationships with government officials, elected representatives, healthcare stakeholders and staff

• Ability to synthesize information and provide a balanced perspective of complex issues in a fast-paced changing environment

• Superior written and verbal communication skills with the ability to write, evaluate and edit a variety of documents such as reports, policy papers and position statements

• Ability to work independently, set priorities and meet multiple deadlines Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Ability to be creative

• Experience in research and creating and conducting presentations

• Proven ability to work in a fast paced, collaborative work environment; adaptable, flexible, positive and responsive to change
